Summer 2012 Update

Brothers,
I hope that all of you are enjoying the summer.  I wanted to update you all on some of the things that the National Executive Board has been working on since my last update email.

  1. This week the ETP Foundation released the National Eagle Scout Scholarship Application.  This is the culmination of over three years of work; it has been a personal goal of mine since joining the NEB in April of 2009.  The ETP Foundation board created last year which is chaired by Aaron Schneider, and comprised of Josh Barnheiser, Phillip Martini, Michael Sievers, and Victor Velten whom made this possible.  All incoming Eagle Scouts to any University in which we are located is eligible to apply.    Please do your part to advertise this scholarship, please send the information to your old troop, scout council, and any Eagles you know.  Chapters and Colonies are asked to make sure the information is known at your school, if your school has an orientation before our deadline be sure to pass it out.  Please send applicants to http://etp-foundation.org to apply.
  2. On May 20, 2012 the National Executive Board announced our newest chapter at West Virginia University, Zeta Chapter.  Since April of 2011, we have doubled the number of chapters in Epsilon Tau Pi. All of our Chapters remain strong and active. We are continuing to pursue several colony expansion sites this coming year.
  3. This summer John Roy and Matthew Hancock launched our updated website, please be sure to check it out.
  4. Eta Chapter at Appalachian State University was selected to host Convocation 2010 which will be held April 19-21, 2013.  Please plan now to join us at this great event.  Eta Chapter already has several great plans in placed to make for a memorable weekend.  All brothers and Alumni are encouraged to attend.  It is always great to see everyone.
  5. In May of 2012, ETP hosted its first NEB sponsored trip, to West Virginia for a White Water Rafting Trip.  Brothers and alumni from several of our colonies and chapters made up the group.  It was great to have an opportunity to meet brothers from our different locations.

As always if you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact your alumni/active NEB representative or contact me directly.

Michael
